Re: Paul and David, a question....

I haven't tried Jon's panels or any equivalents.

My room is not good - it's the living room half of a 22' by 11' combined living/dining room with a small (about 2') rudimentary wall halfway down one long side marking the division, so I've got an 11' square to work with. After trying it both ways, the speakers are along the long wall so the right speaker sits out in the middle of the whole area as it were (well, not quite the middle, a little left of centre, but there's no wall to it's right - just the dining room end of the area). The overall area is small and spacing a panel off the left wall would be too intrusive for the area. The small footprint of the room lenses works fine in terms of space and they have proven very effective in the situation.

My equipment rack is in the centre between the speakers so I run one room lens on each side of it for a total of 4.

Interestingly, some time ago I moved the 2 centre lenses to the side next to the other 2, so I had two on the outside of each speaker. I wanted to see if I thought it would be worth while adding some extra pipes to the existing units or just adding another couple of units. On one brief listen without playiing around with placement. my feel was that I lost some width in the soundstage. The centre deteriorated which I expected having moved the centre units. On balance I'm happy with what I've got at present.
