They are very effective in dealing with room acoustical problems. From posts that I've read here, many people are also very satisfied with Jon Risch's DIY acoustical treatments and Jon's are reportedly very cost effective. I'm not a DIY'er (to a point), so I tend to purchase the best price/performer I can find in any given product category -- the Tunepack falls into this category. The Deluxe Tunes are also good for soundstaging. I've used all the "Tune" products from Michael Green, although I now use his PZCs in my three systems (two audio and one home theater) which are variably tunable. The "Tune" products, and Jon's, are passive control products. Do what your budget permits you to do at this time. Jon's are reportedly very good if you like to DIY. As with any acoustical treatment, a "minimalist" approach is always best.
