warm up - litterally. I've found it takes all of 24-30 hours for these amps to settle down.Rubys - looks like we agree (you called it attenuated mids, I called it sharp highs), but that is not relevant.
Sorbethane? - are you sitting the amp on sorbethane? IMO sorbethane does nothing to improve sound, despite its superior ability to dampen vibrations. my experience = it makes the music sound not quite right. Best explanation I've see (per Michael Green): it has an unnatural decay (natural = what occurs in nature of course) slope. Makes it sound wierd to my ears.
