Results with DIY RollerBlocks...

Hey there

I read something about DIY RollerBlocks (the marble, spoon and wooden block constructed tweak) for CD players. The guy who came up with the tweak...said it did miracles. Anyways during my winter break..I made a stop to Target (bag of marbles - $1.75), Home Depot (for the 3 wooden corner blocks - $3.99) and Dollar General (for 3 stainless steel TEA spoons - $3.00). Average total of $10 with tax.

The bitchest part of the whole thing was to break of the spoon handles...after a lot of effort (and lack of tools) I broke it off. Glued the spoon to the block. Waited a day. Placed my shiny silvery marble on top (looks great).

Both it home..and place it underneath my CDPlayer (NAD 502). Man let me to tell you this..this thing is wicked. The way the CD player just floats on the spoons...smooth :-). Plus it looks GREAT. The best looking DIY vibration absorber for sure (compared to the ugly sand bags and bike tubes).

I did not notice and IMMEDIATE sound difference. But after playing a couple of CDs within a week..I started to notice a few things. The sound was clearer and more solid. The bass was slightly tighter too. Not bad for a $10 tweak.

Overally I would give this tweak a 10/10 purely on how good it looks and its slightly (but noteworthy) sound difference.

I will take some snapshots some time this week...and post the pictues and costruction details on my website by next week.

Peace.
