I am atempting to build new x-overs for my twenty year old Klipsch
La Scalas. I got a copy of the schematic from Klipsch and bought Goertz foil inductors 14AWG to replace the 18AWG stock units. Caps will be replaced with Hovland Musicaps, mid an tweet, and Solen Fastcaps for the woofer. Will the DCR of the foil inductors affect the sound if it is different from the stock value? If so, what can I do to bring it back to spec? I am going to mount the x-over outside the speaker cabinet for
improved sonics, I hope. O.K rocket scientists, help a greenhorn.I also wrapped the midrange horn with Dynamat and this REALLY damped the resonance of the horn. No honk! And I bypassed the tweeter protection,
this really cleaned uo the treble! Thanks and a tip of the hat,
