I have added bypass capacitors to the single 10,000 uf 16 volt capacitor that precedes the four diodes in my cd player. To lower the ESR I want to add another 10,000 uf cap. The only Panasonic 10000 uf 16 volt values that Digikey carries are the M series caps. These caps are 20% tolerance.
1. Should I get two of these caps or just the one I need?
2. Are there any other "reasonably" priced caps that I might use.
3. Are there any other alternatives that I might persue?
The PS pcb only has the 120 AC input to a transformer the transformer secondary is the tied to the cap and the cap is linked to the four bridge rectifiers.
