Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |
|
I've made some diy "tube traps", and wraped them in 1/2 inch (10oz?) poly batting, and I still get itchy from them. I even tried covering it with auto headliner, which is an 1/8 inch open cell foam joined with a polyester fabric, and I swear I can still feel the fiberglass!
I am wondering if I used a spray adhesive (3M 77), or a spray varnish on the glass, would it help to contain the fibers without changing the linearity (or flammability) too much. Or if I covered the whole thing with thin plastic, how would that affect the absorbtion, eg. at what freq. will absorbtion diminish. My main goal is to tame the low end in a 10x12 record/mix room (corners). Thanks for your time
Tim
