I found Highwire Power Wraps to be effective. I use them on after-market power cords for DVD player as well as amp. I also use and have similar results for Shun Mook Original Cable Jackets, used on power cords. Of course, wall outlets should be Hart Arrow or Hubble, anything except the generic wall outlet. That will give a noticable improvement as well. Replace entire cable vice splice.
