I have a Thorens TD 124 turntable which won't turn. The motor does power up and actually builds heat, but it wont turn the wheel that drives the belt..this wheel, which spins freely on a healthy TD 124, is very sluggish, needs a good twist just to turn and won't keep going on its own (bearings?). I welcome any suggestions, from anyone experienced with TD 124's, or fussy old motors, or equipment which is in the condition the Tin Man was in in "The Wizard Of Oz" when they first found him.
