Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |
|
I just tried a set of Enacom speaker filters on my system and the change was stunning. I was able to detect details in voices, such as the decay of breath on "th" sound, "s" sounds that I never heard before, and the treble is improved tremendously. Percussion instruments decay smoothly into black silence. Piano tones have taken on a greater harmonic balance, and actually sound rich, as opposed to muddled, and strings tend to "sing" rather than buzz.Overall the results are quite impressive. However, I have noticed that the image depth of the voice seems to move backward and forward as the singer changes pitch. Does anyone else have experience with these devices?
Also, I have heard that these devices can cause ringing on the speaker outputs which can damage the amplifier.
Thanks!
System Configuration:
CD Player / Arcam Alpha 7
Preamp / Morrison ELAD
Amp / Ayre V-3
Speaker cable / Ensemble Megaflux FSF
Speakers / Thiel CS 2.2
