Re: Modification of Pioneer DV525

209.77.89.4

Here's another mod page from Dan W.

http://themorgue.org/audio/pioneer-dv525/

You can go even further by dealing with resonance and radiation/EMI within the player by going to www.virmode.com

Finally you can send it to stan warren (541-344-3696) who will modify the analog output stage, rebias the power supply correctly (a design oversight that was not addressed on this particular Pioneer model) and freeze (down to -100 degrees) the analog board for you. The analog output stage modification entails replacing the opamps with Burr Brown OPA2604's, input and output capacitors with Black Gates, and a small redesign using a metal film resistor to bring the output impedance down to 56 ohms (phenomenal bass!). You may be able to do the analog output stage modification yourself, but Stan has some engineering insights which involve also removing parts of the analog output stage and maybe the powersupply which are useless. Your choice...he charges $200 + shipping. I think its a steal. I've had my player modded by Stan and it's wonderful so far. I will however, be implementing the mods listed on Soundstage, and Dan W. to the power supply and case very soon. Should take the performance even further. Good luck,

Anand.
