I own(ed) a Musical Fidelity A220.Ok guys, I was hooking up my speakers and somehow forgot to hook up one pair of wires (biwire) to the speaker terminals on my speakers. That and the (-) and (+) bananas were touching. I fired up my amp and it played for about 45 seconds then it turned off by itself and wouldn't turn back on. There was a very slight burnt electronics smell.
I fixed my connection and tried to turn it on. No luck.
I checked the external power fuse, it's good.
I tried to get the case open but it uses some strange screws (star head with a rod in the middle) to hold it on.
Does anyone know the extent in which my amp is fried with what little information I offered? Also if anyone knows where I can find an apex to open up Musical Fidelity amps, I'd appriciate it greatly.
Everything I say is my opinion and is in no way fact to anyone other than myself and members of my religious cult in San Diego (the beast awakens soon my brothers).Happy Listening,
Bernard from Okinawa
