Re: Silver plated spades??

Hello:

I prefer to shift from one type of metal to another as little as possible. So, I make my spades. It is very easy, inexpensive and I feel much superior (well "I" don't feel more superior but I think the connection is, well ok, maybe I do a little). I use flat silver wire from Swest (its on the web). I double a 8x28 gauge flat silver piece of wire bending it and not cutting it until I have formed the entire spade, I make a “v” out of it, solder it together and gently form it to fit as a spade. I then solder the speaker wire, "after" I have slid over a little quality heat shrink on the speaker wire to pull back over the solder point, and I am done. This works great, I have pure silver all the way and I am a happy camper.
