Not quite familiar with the term UFRED, but if you are looking for a rectifier diode for tube amps, I would recommend the HEXFRED from International Rectifier. If you are looking for a rectifier for SS electronics application, I would recommend Schottky diodes if you can find a diode with high enough voltage rating (roughly 3 X the transformer secondary voltage) or if you are using them in an application where they are seeing higher rated voltage or can't find the Schottky diode in the correct rating, I would recommend Harris FREDs.You can buy Harris FREDs from Michael Percy Audio...see the AA home page for link. For the Schottky's and HEXFREDs, go to www.digikey.com. They are excellent, reliable, and very fast. I live in Portland, OR and when I order parts shipped Priority mail, I get them in 2-3 days after I place the order. Digikey in is Minnesota.
