wire, power conditioner, AC cables, etc...

OK, first question: I have some silver-coated copper, teflon insulated, 28 AWG Belden wire at my disposal. Would adding this to the outside of a pair of Monster ic's help them? Or should I use the RCA's from the Monsters, braid some of this Belden wire, and make my own ic's? Or should I trash it altogether?

Second question: I bought a Monster HTS700 conditioner/protector. I did not notice much of an audible differece at first install. But it does filter out the noise coming from a small flourescent fixture on the same circuit. Should there be a noticable audible difference using a c/p, or will it be subtle as in the presentation of certain frequencies? Has anyone compared this model c/p to any others? feedback?

Third question: Is there a noticable audible difference in A/C power cords? What is the difference in construction, and what makes one better than the other?

My system is exclusively CD playback audio, 2-channel stereo.

thanks for any helpful hints!
