Hi Jonathan,The core will be a very large (for the application) Mu-Metal core. The winding techniques are quite refined with that manufacturer, at least as line level and microphone units go.
I was aware of the Luxman unit, but despite regular searches on Japanese 2nd Hand sites I never found one.
