Hum was invading my system when my Jolida tube amp was on the shelf system as my KEF bookshelf speakers. The hum went away when I put a 6" thick bag of rags stuffed into a plastic sack under the amp. The "insulation" soaked up the vibration, and the hum disappeared. I would imagine anything you can use to isolate components will enhance the sound.
