Russell, as far as the analog stage is concerned I have only done direct replacements of the standard OPA2604 opamps - not very adventurous!I have made no cap or other bypass mods to the output stage (Rotel look to have done a pretty fair job already).
That said, you can acheive a tremendous improvement in clarity, transparency and sheer realism by substituting LM6172 opamps for the 2604's. Since this is a straight substitution it is very cheap and easy(and reversible if you happen not to like the change). Others have tried this opamp and agree it is a great improvement in this player. I did try the Lcaudio 825 modules but have decided the 6172 offers the more natural and relaxed presentation of detail IMS.
I have also done the Lclock XO upgrade from Lcaudio and found it a fundemental improvement - but not the $ bargain of the opamp upgrade.
