The DIY kits at the listed website sound great and are priced at the cost of the parts plus misc. and shipping. They used Burr Browns best audio Opamps, outboard power supply and quality parts. The kits require no soldering using a breadboard, but require planning and study, and should be a nice challenge for you. About $75 bucks, and the sub kits are even less! Best Wishes to all!
