First, do you have a schematic? There isn't anything wrong per say at having only one transformer. But if you don't like it add another one in. I did for my old Magget box, some years ago. One just for the analog will do nicely. But first do up the main supply with larger filter caps. Then have a look at the caps around the rest of the unit. Like the DAC, do the caps feeding it too. Then maybe add a regulator for the laser unit. For the analog stage see if there are resistors in line with the voltages? Jumper them out if there are. Then add large caps all around that stage. What are the resistors in line with the output. I like to take those down to around 200 ohms total. Remove the little cap they ALWAYS put at the output. That will bring up the high end detail. After you've reworked the machine then decide if you still want to go balanced or not. If yes, then I would say copy the output stage it already has. That would be easy.
