Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |
|
I just set up a TacT RCS 2.0 I purchased this weekend. Though it is
not a panacea for any and all audio problems, I'm finding it an
interesting addition, not the least of which is the measuring
capability of the system. I have a very small room (10' X 17.5')
with significant boom in the bass. The measurement curve shows a
significant bass peak around 40Hz and a large suckout around 80Hz.
The correction smoothed out the system dramatically, and greatly
improved the imaging, although the soundstage is slightly smaller.
Detailing and transparency also seem better. I found that is IS NOT
as "set it and forget it" system. It takes a lot of tweaking of both
speaker positioning and target curve adjustment to reach the desired
sound....I'm still not there yet.I think the TacT offers significant advantages, particularly for
those with a problematic room, though I can see its benefit in almost
any system.
