I think you are talking perhaps of solid material--from small "flat" pieces that go over chips seen on pc boards, etc. Called by ferrite companies as "tiles" and "saddle" beads, am I right?
The other style of ferrite suppressors are chokes that fit around cables--you seem to be looking for something inside the box. Most of the catalogs on ferrites I have show both...and have graphs and technical data that describes exactly how they measure (for example, impedance vs frequency graphs, etc.) For an neophyte, they look like tough to decipher... guessing how they might work in any audio application. But one catalog I'm looking at now shows some pretty neat color photos of half-round chokes with adhesive backing that fit over internal wiring harness inside components that would work easily and can be removed if not necessary....as well as pics that show small tiles that fit over chips (like those seen inside digital components) to kill rfi/emi interference...also adhesive backing so easy to remove if not effective.BTW, if these are seen as so necessary as to warrant an entire catalog of various sized tiles for chips, etc. how come I've never seen any of these items inside even the priciest digital equipment intended for audio applications? I've owned a lot of pieces but I've never seen anything like the printed board suppressors (and/or half-torroids and half-beads--"U shaped" that fit over enclosure cable routing.) If it's cheap enough to warrant inclusion in a pc application why not audio? More experimenting needed....as Clark calls it, "vest pocket engineering" by audio folks....'cause the manufacturers of equipment aren't giving us any!
