If that's a tube model, then tube amps are usually quite forgiving of capacitive loads, but if they have a high enough output Z, AND the speaker cable has a high enough capacitance, then they can actually start to roll-off due to basic R-C filter action. SS amps are usually so much lower in oputput Z than tube amps that they do not have this issue, but are sensitive to the stability problems instead. I do not have any reliable input on how well the Velleman tube amps fare, so this is just a general comment here.The Velleman SS amps are reputed to be marginally stable into difficult loads, so I would not try the CAT5 with one of those models without knowing how to do so safely, and being willing to take the chance of damaging the amp.
