Sounds like a Mits 40" to me...I would suggest you go to the local hardware store(Home Depot or Lowes) and use your imagination. Do you know of any cabinet makers? I'm sure they could help you. If it's a Mits, I feel sorry for you, I have had the unfortunate task of moving a few of those in my time. Those things are boat anchors...
