My amp design has taken yet another turn. After talking with Borbely, I've decided to build one Servo-50 and try it out with the woofers wired in parallel. If it turns out that one amp is more than sufficient, I'll modify the second amp to build Borbely's Millenium amp.Right now I'm trying to figure out if I can fit an extended output board into the amp. The regular output board has room for 5 pairs of output devices (usually MOSFETs). We have substituted bipolars for the MOSFETs and re-biased the board for the change from MOSFETs to BJTs.
The longer board allows the use of 8 pairs of BJTs, uses a bipolar output driver instead of a MOSFET output driver, and uses 680 uF caps on the board instead of 0.1 uF caps. Now if I can only get it to fit!
