surface noise help

205.188.198.23

I'm new to this site and I've been very impressed by you guys and your knowledge and willingness to help. About a year ago I decided to revisit vinyl and purchased a VPI 19jr. TT (subsequently upgraded to MK3 platter) AQPT6 ARM and Benz Glider. From the start, I've been struggling with the noise thing. I did not expect CD-like silence but I can't believe this high level of noise is normal or tolerable by all you folks touting the wonderfulness of vinyl. I've tried everything I could think of to improve the situation. I NittyGritty & DiscDoctor my Lps, clean the stylus before each play, spoke to all the manufacturers involved, & have played with VTA and VTF ad nauseum.
I even sent the Glider to Musical Surroundings to be inspected (it was ok). I've made a substantial investment here & my nerves are frayed every time I play an LP. I have hundreds of records I'de love to enjoy but I clearly need some help here. Anybody out there have any suggestions? I'd be eternally grateful for some help. One thing I do notice is that there is a slight wobble to the platter when it rotates and the Glider does gently rise and fall as it plays. Could this be contributing to the problem?
P.S. I've upgraded the cable to AQ Emerald and use the Black Cube preamp.
