Tom,Mine are not DIY -- they are called "Cable Lifters". I don't know what wood they use, but the paint is similar in texture to the non resonant paint used on Bright Star Big/Little Rock products. "Nextel" is one type of non resonant paint, but I don't know if this is what they use.
