Can anyone explain why 1st-order Butterworth x-over values
are calculated using -3dB = 1/2 power (ie dB=10log(a/b))
when my understanding of the matter is that for
sound-PRESSURE calculations, one uses dB=20log(a/b), which
would yield a -3dB value of approx 0.707 (and different
component values, of course)
