If this is an older analog receiver, the station indicator is probibly actuated by a thin cord running around a sheave on the tuning knob and then around another sheave associated with the tuning circuit (variable cap or inductor). The timing between the knob and sheave at the tuning circuit may have slipped. If this is the case, you could hold the tuning sheave at a known station and move the tuning knob until the indicator matches the station number.Hope it's something that easy.
