Rick,thanks for your comments and this issue also concerned me.
I can't hear any 'on battery noise' or any other obvious degradation on the UPS battery supplied system. So I guess either it is'nt a problem or more worringly 'noise' on the mains is'nt an issue and the UPS is a waste of time anyway.
The specification sheets acompanying the UPS unit refer to:
"On battery waveshape" (as being) - "Stepped sinewave"
This is now a job for my chum-with-the-golden-ears: he can normally listen to changes in my kit any pick up differences very quickly and point them out - hmmmmmm... auto suggestion?
