About a month ago I had read a post about using tennis balls underneath equiptment and the startling effects of such a tweak.Off to WalMart I must go. Five tubes later (15 balls)I arrive home thinking this will never pass the wife acceptance factor test but i just had to find out if this really works. I put said balls underneath turntable and low and behold this sounds better. there is a difference.I can't put my finger on it but it is better.Two days before this I have to look up noise floor in FAQ because I have absolutely no idea as to what it is. I've read reviews talking about it but did not have the slightest inclination as to what it was.
(ie:normally the lowest threshold of useful signal level)
Two weeks go by and i told the wife that I'm going to pick out some granite and have boxes made up to hide the hideous yellow sphericles.
Its Friday night and I just dropped off the wifer for her womens retreat from church for the weekend."by honey, love you". Off to Walmart I go again, for what else, more balls.Twelve tubes later I'm ready.36 balls in hand i'm besides myself thinking i'm going to pop these babies under my speakers and see what happens.Alas ,no wife to help tilt speaker while I roll. Okay. I'll try these under the preamp WOW ,that made a difference. Heck, I still have 25 left. Definetly under the transport.Holy Smoke , three songs into the cd and reality has just slapped me beside the head. Cheers of " DAC Dac Dac " we're rolling through my brain.ten minutes later I'm ready to do some listening.Not serious listening because now the tubes had cooled off so i knew it would be a little while. Hope I didn't blow it by shutting down the system and losing all the magic. Nope, its still there, Thank you Jesus. Ready Bill, Unbelievable, every cd just sounded ......(here are the two words that kept coming to my ears as I listened , natural,audible. Try this tweak!!!! I hope it does for you what It has done for my system. Thanks to the people who originally posted this inexpensive tweak. I now believe i know what noise floor is because this tweak definetly lowered it and made me aware of it. Thanks again!
