By making the room more solid you have made it harder for the bass to
couple with the room....this is ok!!! If you get the output of the bass you
need you will have a more acurate bass sound instead of a drywall muddy
bass sound. Try this...put some items in your corners of the room.
Like a solid box like item. It only has to be two to three feet off the
ground. Old speaker cabs would work perfect. Then make sure on any long
walls you have something like a chair or a couch to break up standing wave
modes. This is a simple, cheap way to improve bass acoutsics in your room.
The next step would be more bass drivers....like two subs. Try the acoustical approach first...
