You can use Tesla/JJ Output Valves, less expensive Transformers and so on....
At any extent, for almost any remotely managable heat dissipation on the SOZ a decent 300B will have better damping factor, lower distortion and (once the Preamp interface is factored) wider Frequency response. Not that matters, but it will sound better too.
