You guys need to chill. It has been implied that the GZ 34 Metal Base tubes were fakes. They certainly are not. I received 2 in the mail Friday and bought 2 more this morning on e-bay, buy it now.

I was leaving for work today and the phone rang. It was Nicolas calling from Switzerland. His father was the largest Mullard/Philips stockist in Europe. Their company bought 360,000,000 guilders woth of tubes in 5 years from the Herleen (sp) planr alone. They have a large number of tubes stored 'from the old days' and the tube business is NOT their bread and butter. They sell aircraft, radar parts etc. They are industrial suppliers, not anal retentive audiophiles. Did I really say that? He is not a 'date code' wizzard. I doubt any of us are bonafide experts. This is not an exact science as we all know.

I spoke with his Mother too, she is quite charming and has a wonderful sense of humor. She is going to make sure Nicolas studies date codes until he becomes a paragon of arcane knowledge. Just kidding Mom.

The point: If you have any tube questions, just ask the seller.

Disclaimer: This is a real post and I have no interest in Micronetics. I just buy tubes from them. The phone call was sincere and so are they. Just the facts.
