RE: Issue with tube bias drift in my integrated amplifier!

As others have mentioned it could be line voltage variations which cause the change in bias voltage applied to the tube grids - which means the current through the tube will change.

But here's a couple tips that I hope will help:

1. Clean the tube pins and socket contacts well to ensure good contact. Follow the link below to my FAQ post and check out item #1 - it should be helpful.

2. Remember it's not just the tubes that have to warm up - ALL the parts in the amp should be fully warmed to get the most stable setting. I recommend the amp run at least an hour before you make your final adjustment. All those other parts besides the tubes change some as they warm - so give them adequate time.

3. After doing the steps above don't sweat small changes in the bias. Small changes do no harm and are pretty much normal since AC line voltage variations are occurring much of the time. And if all the tubes change in the same direction at the same time you can be nearly 100% sure it's due to line voltage that's the cause.
