I've experienced "rattle" from rectifiers - vintage Mullard GZ34 are notorious in this regard. It is a physical vibration that is not microphony (not affecting the amplified signal), but is obvious in the room.
That said, rattle is different from "hum" (as U2 is my witness!). Hum would be amplified through the audio signal. Tubes in the signal path can cause hum, and it is distinct from microphony. Preamp tubes that are not making adequate pin contact can cause hum. You might consider cleaning tube pins and re-tensioning your sockets, then trying again to see if hum is eliminated.
