I suspect driver and output tubes are 2 different animals in ONE major way. How hot they get.
Somebody wrote I should own a tube amp. Ridiculous. They shouldn't own a high powered car, whoever they are.....just as nutty.
We're talking 30years of clean room training here. It's only in the last few years I've been able to even use a PENCIL......forbidden in places I worked.
And yes, I imagine that low-level tubes CAN last thousands of hours. I just won't handle in such a way as to leave finger oils and such on 'em.....
Glasss won't break......with normal handling and I suspect some impact resistance, too....to the determinent of the internals.....
