I don't know about the Beyerdynamic DT-990, but I personally like the DT-931. (I think the 931 is a later model.) The Sennheiser HD600 is excellent too, but I think the 931 has a tad more resolution and linearity. OTOH, some say the 931 is bright-sounding and prefer the HD600. I think it will come down to taste, as well as the upstream equipment. I think trying out these headphones in your own environment will be far more valuable than an opinion sample.
