I have not spent time with the 9's either but listen to the OM-8's on a daily basis & love 'em. I run optical to my Denon 5700 or 'Ye old 89259 analogue depending on the mood I'm in. My CD player is a Yamaha 765 & I've found the 'digital' out to the Denon to make for a much tighter & lower bass response. I've upgraded the power cables and use the TNT Cat5 (plenum) speaker cables ... love 'em!PS: They were $2200.00 new & I got mine on closeout for $1299.00 new in the box. Talk to the sales person & see if he'll call you when they go on a closeout type basis. Could save big $$$. I had one driver blow on my OM-C2 center channel & Mirage Tech support had a new one at my door is a few days so I did not have to incur shipping charges at all ... pleasant experience.
