Memory lane: POLK AUDIO 'Monitor 10B' speakers... oldie but goodie!

Earlier today, I decided to clean out my laundry/storage room area, where I have been storing an older pair of mint condition black on black Polk Monitor 10B's for years. This is the speaker that got me into high end audio back in 1986 when I just got out of college. Back in the early 90's when I replaced them with Maggies (I fell in love with the planar sound), I decided to store them. I just couldn't sell them, since they sounded very expensive and great in many respects, and I had saved long and hard for my first 'real' system (remember, many college grads incur huge debts!) which included these classic Polk's. I fired them up today and connected them to my McIntosh tube equipment, and they sounded spectacular!!! I couldn't believe it!!! I can't quite put a handle on their sound signature, but they were, and still are, excellent speakers. I do believe Polk made much better speakers back then (1980's) BEFORE they went ultra-commercial. Has anyone else owned or heard the Monitor 10B's? What do you think of them?
