Much more than a foot between them might = outermost pair too far apart.

And I'd probably put the Sony speakers closest to the TV with the Kef speakers on the outside, toeing in the Sony speakers a bit less than the Kef speakers...

But I wouldn't be hesitant to experiment with positioning for a while. Do whatever sounds beast to you in the long run.
