I recently bought some Magnepan Mini Maggie planar speakers and I couldn't be happier. I bought two DWM bass panels because I'm using them in my room in a near-field configuration. I also added a 12-inch Rythmik Servo Sub to reinforce the bottom octave, and this system sounds very good to me. Moreover, it doesn't cost a lot. The Mini Maggie's are about $3500 with the extra DWM bass panel, and the Rythmik Servo Sub is about $1259.

This is just a one-person listening system. However, if you want a larger system, Magnepan has the full size 3.7i system. I'd recommend incorporating two 12-inch Rythmik Servo subs with that system. The cost would be $9,000 for the Magnepan 3.7i speakers and about $2500 for a pair of 12" Rythmik Servo Subs.
