RE: Give Me Your Best Speaker Audition Strategies

I have the Klipsch Cornwall IV and I love it. It's my first horn speaker. I didn't audition it first- nothing in my area. But after reading countless very positive reviews, I took a chance. And I was glad I did. Steve Guttenberg owned this for several years and Andrew Robinson owns one now. I know the complaints about horns in the past were that they tend to be shouty. This Cornwall is not shouty in the least, has amazing dynamics and filled the room with sound. I play many genres including classical and they all sound great to me, particularly chamber groups. I ordered from Crutchfield, which allows returns.

Keep in mind that any speaker you audition may sound very different in your room. So asking for suggestions may be of limited help. Certainly auditioning speakers is advisable. Chances are if you like it in the store, you'll like it at home.
