Your problem lies in combining the two chanels. You can not just wire your two power amplifier outputs in parallel to drive the single voice coil driver. This would certainly kill your amp. You need to mix the line level signals before the power amp. Some active cross overs have this function. Or you could do it with a few resistors. Once you have done this, and if your power amp is bridgable then you could use it in this mode to get the same power into the 8ohm that you used to get into 2x4ohmHope this helps,
