I think recently drivers have been more consistant than before in that the dimensions are close to the outside rim. Seems like 10 years ago, they were all over the place. And yes, some drivers have huge surrounds which bring the cone even smaller.Also, note the huge differences in cone area on similar sized drivers. One would think this could not change much.
