Re: How's S.Africa's VIVID doing?... Any owners can offer comments?

I've had my B1's for a while now, (serial number 17 and 18) I cannot imagine living without them. They are able to handle whatever I throw at them and more. Using a DCS 8Pi direct into a Halcro MC20 in a room 5X8 metres. I was originally using them on the short axis and recently moved to the long axis and they sound even better. Slight loss of image depth but this was far outweighed by the reality of the sound reproduction.
I was always a fan of panel speakers having used Maggies and Apogee Stages previously, had to change to B&W 804's because of an insurance claim (and th demise of Apogee), my interest in hi-fi waned considerably until I changed up to the Vivids.
If I had one criticism, they can be a little base heavy in some rooms, but this is easily controlled by blocking the rear port with a little foam, this tightened it up and bought back the control.
I would recommend them in a heartbeat.
Andy
