Oh ya, the Silverline SR17’s can rock!!!However I’ve only tried them with high power McIntoch amps, so I’m not sure if 40 watts would do it. The SR17 is based on Dynaudio drivers which want to be driven hard (IMHO). I’ve got mine in a second system and I find them to be very musical. From the Grateful Dead to Ozzi Osborne they do everything right. If you are looking for chest pounding bass you may need a sub, but for every day listening they’re great.
