Well, you *have* to get the amp fixed because it's a servo design. The "new" Genesis seems to think that service and support is optional at best and an opportunity to take advantage of an old customer rather than to service him and keep him happy and interested in the gear. The amps in the back are $500 amps at most (more like $200 if you ask me, but definitely not $1700) but they have the servo system so that means they have to be fixed. The new owner of Genesis is a "penny wise/pound foolish" kind of guy and will drive the company into the ground trying to make that extra margin. He shipped us a sub and when it was damaged in shipping, he told me, basically "your problem, file a claim, order another". That was the end of that relationship. He kept all of my money too, even after I sent the sub back. You can try Bascom King - bhk@rain.org - He knows how to fix them if he's still interested in doing it. I had another contact, but they went out of business. Let me know, I have some piling up too! Sorry to hear about your woes, but don't expect the new Genesis to help you in the slightest.
