hey Robert, how's the shoulder? hope all is well.Check the archives to see what others have reported in this asylum and the Hi-efficiency asylum. Lots of folks with single driver speaks also use subs.
For the sweepeing generalizations, folks might say the Sunfire are really for Home Theatre...they go boom rather than make music. The Hsu like mine is a budget sub, and down firing which some don't like for music. hsu does make other subs though with much more performance than mine, though i dig it.
With your wood floors, i'd be looking for a side firing sub or one that comes with a stand. My sub won't work laying on its side... Check out ACI speakers, their subs are supposed to be real musical. REL is the bomb diggidy also, but gettin' pricey.
The SVS subs might also be HT oriented, but i've not heard them.
It would be cool to get a sub with a mic. Also, you should stop by to hear mine again, it was not hooked up properly when you were over!! a completely different presentation now, MUCH more 3-D and crazy.
the archives at audiocircle are good for sub info as well... they have a home theatre circle.
