I favor the Magnepans because they project a more exciting and realistic soundstage - maybe even a bit bigger than life. As has been mentioned, the Vandys project a bit more warmth or bass. Slightly mellower. And soundstage location cues are better - especially when positioned well. The Vandy tends to be a more relaxed sound.If you can't provide the breathing room for a larger dipole like the Maggie, the Vandy will carry the advantage. Given adequate room though, the Magnepans can really sing. Because I enjoy speakers that project realism and life, I prefer the Maggie. But, both are excellent speakers.
